10 Reasons I Caught The Traveling Bug

As I came home from Europe, I realized I didn't just leave with a suitcase filled with souvenirs.

Traveling to Europe was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. I was ready to explore a different culture, take many pictures, eat a large amount of food and see breathtaking sites. As I started to pack my suitcase for the ten day trip to Europe, I did not realize how much of an impact this trip would have on my life. Even though leaving the country was one of the reasons I caught the traveling bug, there is more to it.

1. The views are breathtaking

Whether I was just in my hotel room or out on the streets exploring, everything looks like it just came out of a postcard. Everything seems to have its place and the results are breathtaking. I mean I can just take a picture instead of buying a postcard, right?

2. The food is out of this world

Pasta, chocolate and pastries, oh my. Every bite is a piece of heaven and you develop the craving for more food when you are already full.

3. Especially the gelato

Do I even need to say more? Gelato is a million times better than ice cream which is probably the reason why I got it three times a day. You can never eat too much gelato.

4. And the pizza

Pizza is the reason for my existence. Whether I got just a slice or an entire whole pizza for myself, it had just the right amount of cheese, sauce and crispiness.

5. Men can actually pull off the "man bun"

Europeans have the look that allows them to pull off the "man bun". Everyone aged from 15 to 50 were wearing man buns and rocking them. Hopefully have a photo album titled "Man Buns" doesn't make me too weird.

6. You gain little to no weight

Walking everywhere really allows you to burn off all the gelato and plates of food you ate during the day. You may be tired from all the walking, but it's worth it to get hours of exercise.

7. Shopping

I think this one speaks for itself. With a great deal of stores, I was in shopping heaven. Everywhere we went, I had time to waste so I spent that time shopping and spending all the money I didn't have. Shopping in one of the fashion capital of the world, um, yes please.

8. The artsy picture spots

I think I took about a hundred selfies and had someone take a hundred more of me everywhere we went to get the perfect Instagram picture. Choosing the perfect one to post was the ultimate struggle while I was in Europe, but at least I have throwback Thursday to post all the pictures I didn't post.

9. The Discoteca is a blast

Spending the whole night dancing with Europeans and your friends create many memories to last a lifetime. Even though walking back hurts, you wouldn't trade the night for anything else.

10. You make memories that will last forever

Whether you complain about all the stairs you have to climb or all the boring lectures you have to listen to, this is something that you are going to remember forever. You will be able to tell everyone how lucky you were to go on this once in a lifetime trip and you will be able to share your stories without ever getting bored of telling them. This experience will make you want to travel all over again and fill up your passport to its capacity.

Being able to travel to Europe and visit all the historic sites was an experience that I will never forget. I was able to go on the roof of the Duomo in Milan, go paddle boating in Lake Lugano and into the Bellinzona castles in Switzerland, go into the Duomo in Florence and dance in a Discoteca in Florence, visit Vatican City, and explore the coliseum in Rome. These are unbelievable sites that I would have never discovered if I did not make the decision to travel. This trip has led me to want to go on many more trips in my lifetime and fill up my passport to its limit.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
