Forget the pumpkin patch, ice-skating, and all of the cute, “relationship goal” things that everyone posts on Instagram and Facebook. Doing things like watching Sunday Night Football and filling out March Madness brackets are much better relationship goals! Dating a girl who loves sports just as much as you is one of the best choices you could make and here are a few reasons why:
1. Cheap dates
Not in a bad way! As long as they aren’t looking for front row seats, you’re in the clear! Don’t forget about the chance for you two to become famous on the Kiss Cam!
2. Holidays = Easy peasy
Christmas, check. Birthday, check. Valentine’s Day, check. It’s so easy to shop for someone who wants one thing; team merchandise! A jersey here, a bobble head there, you’ll never run out of things to get her!
3. All bets are on!
You bet her $100 or some other silly bet she won’t win (because clearly you’re the most knowledgeable about sports) only to see a couple months later that she beat you by a good 60 points and it’s time for you to pay up.
4. She seems just like a bro
But don’t call her one. Talking sports seems like something only guys do, but get a girl who knows her stuff and your jaw will be all the way down at the other end zone.
5. It’s all food and games until someone gets hurt
If you go to Buffalo Wild Wings just to eat the food, you’re doing it wrong. Yes, she’ll want to go for the wings, but she’ll be too worried about the games on the 50 TVs to even remember that you’re there. Sorry, boys.
6. Party time
There’s nothing she loves more than big rival games or championship games. Her eyes will be glued to the TV, with you, hours before the game even starts and she will watch it until the very end.
7. Bling
Turn off the mobile notifications, she’ll already be texting you in all caps letting you know every play of game.
8. The emotional rollercoaster
It consists of yelling at the TV for bad calls by the refs and screaming her head off because her team just took the lead, and all of the emotions in between. This isn’t a bad thing; chances are you’ll be going through it too. But isn’t riding a rollercoaster more fun with someone else?
9. Draft day
It’s like her own mini holiday. She treats this day as if it’s the best day of the year. Of course she follows the minors and college athletes! She crosses her fingers hoping that her favorite players will get chosen for the right team.
10. No nagging
There’s no “babe, stop watching football and go to the mall with me” because she’ll be sitting right next to you shouting at the TV, probably louder than you!
