Whether you loved, hated, or floated through high school, there are jut some things that high school lacked that college does not. Although you may have made some great memories during those four years, you definitely are happy to have moved on. Here are the 10 reasons why i found college to be better than high school.
1. Naps
When you have a crazy schedule and add homework to the mix, you can kiss your good night's sleep goodbye. The great thing about college is that typically, your classes are not back to back so you can take time for a little cat nap (or two) if needed.
2. Freedom
Whether your idea of freedom is being able to stay out past your high school curfew, or getting a milkshake and pizza at 2 a.m. without being criticized, college is a place where you learn to make your own decisions.
3. Your friends are just a few feet away.
Although college usually means living in dorms, this can be a very beneficial experience. When your best friends are just a few doors down, even the worst of your days can get better.
4. Greek life
No, being in a sorority is not as superficial as it is depicted to be in "Legally Blonde," but the sisterhood that Elle experiences definitely is real. Whether you're close to them or not, 300 girls will always be there to celebrate even your smallest victories.
5. Less homework
Homework, of course, is still a thing. But in college, there is definitely more time to do it. If you're ever crammed with too much work due the next day, it's most likely a result of your own procrastination.
6. Roommates
When you have a roommate, everything is more fun. Cleaning the room and getting ready to go out turns into a dance party, getting food late night turns into a secret mission, and not being able to fall asleep turns into vent session.
7. Adventures
Living on a college campus can sometimes be limiting, so when you get offered to go off campus, you rarely decline. From belting out throwbacks with your friends while driving, to making a pitstop at Cookout or McDonald's on the way back, any trip off campus becomes an adventure.
8. Interesting classes
Unlike high school, in college you get to pick the classes you take. Taking classes that are focused on your interests will not only make you want to go to class, but also help you keep your grades up.
9. Different people
After being in school with the same people for years, it is refreshing to meet new people. Not only is it fun to make new friends, but it also benefits you as a person to hear people's opinions and views that are different than yours.
10. New experiences
Whether you go away for school, or 30 minutes away from home, you are sure to have a variety of new experiences throughout your time in college. Relax. Don't be afraid of change, and enjoy the ride.
