I have always been a fan of motivational quotes. No matter what I'm going through, I can always find a quote that is relevant to my situation to help me get through it. Whether its from a piece of literature or just an old saying, I find solace in words of wisdom. Below are my ten favorite quotes that I live by everyday and why you should too!

1. "People may not always tell you how they feel about you, but they will always show you. Pay attention." -Keri Hilson
This quote is relevant to everyone. We all go through situations and relationships in our lives when actions and words don't go hand-in-hand. It's important to know that words are strong but actions are stronger. If someone tells you they care about you, but their actions don't prove it, their words mean nothing. Don't let words get in the way of their true feelings.

2. "You will never influence the world by trying to be like it." -Sean McCabe
Being yourself is important. Don't let the trends of the world take away from your individuality.

3. "I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person." -Oscar Wilde
Sometimes we get lost in relationships. We become so accustomed to someone's company that we forget how to function without them. We base our decisions on their happiness and put their needs before ours. At times like these, its important to have time for yourself and realize that you will never be truly happy with someone else if you're not happy with yourself first.

4. "You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches." -Dita Von Teese
You can't make someone like you. You can be the most successful person in the world and do everything right, but there's still going to be someone that dislikes you. At times like this, you have to remember that you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try.

5. "Be stubborn about your goals, and flexible about your methods." -Author Unknown
In life, things don't always work out the way we planned. It's important to remember that there are mulitple ways to reach your goals. When one path fails, don't be afraid to weigh your options and try again.

6. "If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies. How different our ideals of beauty would be." -Author Unknown
We all know that person that is absolutely beautiful with a crappy personality. It's important to keep in mind that beauty fades but inner beauty remains forever. Be kind and giving and your beauty will shine from the inside out.

7. "The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances." -Author Unknown
We all encounter rough times in our lives. When we are faced with these unfortunate situations, its important to muster your strength and courage to get through it. Don't let it get you down.

8. "A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regret." -Author Unknown
It's inevitable that at times we get angry. When anger takes over, it's essential to take a breather and think about the consequences of our actions. Words can hurt people, but by reflecting on the situation before acting upon our anger, we save ourselves from saying things we don't mean.

9. "If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects." -Albert Einstein
It's important to know that people and material objects are temporary. If you base your happiness on these things, you will always end up disappointed. On the other hand, If you base your happiness on a goal, you give yourself the ability to control the outcome.

10. "What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday."-Author Unknown.
Last but not least, be thankful. When was the last time you thanked a loved one for the role they play in your life? Never miss an opportunity to let someone know how grateful you are for them, because you never know when will be the last time you see them.
