1. Share your beliefs and values- He must share your religious beliefs and respect your values. No matter what anyone says, nothing brings people closer together than sharing common beliefs and values. You cannot build a future if he doesn't agree on where you stand. Since religious beliefs are very important to many, its natural to look for someone with the same beliefs and values if you want to bring both sides of the family together.
2. Sense of humor- Life has its ups and downs and sometimes you need good laugh to get you going. Thus, it's important that he has a sense of humor; the good kind. Not the kind of sense of humor where he laughs at other's expense or is inappropriate, but a more of a positive and generous sense of humor; one that lifts and revives your spirit.
3. Honesty- Nobody likes liars, no matter what kind of lie it is or how small or big the lie is. He must be honest at all times; both with himself and with you.
