No matter the distance, coming home from college is something most college students both look forward to and dread. Whether it is for a weekend or weeks at a time, going home is a big ordeal. Here are a few reasons why coming home is both the best and the worst.
1. Seeing your family
It's great to be welcomed home by those that missed you the most.
2. Packing
If you are like most people, packing is the bane of your existence. It's so difficult to find the balance between "too much" and "too little."
3. Home-cooked meals
Need I say more?
4. The drive home
Whether you live 15 minutes or several hours away, the drive home from college seems to be especially long and tedious. This is especially the case is you make the trek alone.
5. Spending time with friends
It is always great to reconnect with friends from your hometown. Especially if your friends now attend different universities and have busy and very different schedules from yours.
6. Seeing how your parents have rearranged your room
You may come home to find that your possessions or entire room have been rearranged.
7. Sleeping in your own bed
There is no better feeling than laying down in your own bed for the first time in weeks. More than likely, your dorm mattress isn't up to parr.
8. Loading your car up
Playing a real life game of Tetris while loading up your car to go home is more than enough to make you ask yourself "is this worth it?"
9. Eating at your favorite local restaurants
Of course you have to satisfy the cravings you've had for those eats you can only get in your hometown.
10. Leaving
Saying goodbye to the people, and place, you love is never an easy task. Luckily, you can go back home again soon.
