- a quality of beauty and intensity of emotion regarded as characteristic of poems.
Poetry is defined as something being beautiful. Whether is it Robert Frost, Shel Silverstein or Sarah Kay, each poem and poet has their own beauty and magnificence. Personally, I enjoy poetry to a great extent, and have been a huge fan of spoken poetry since I was 12. Here are just a few poets and performances that I find make your heart ache with joy, compassion, and sympathy.
1. If I Should Have a Daughter... by Sarah Kay
And she's gonna learn that this life will hit you hard in the face, wait for you to get back up just so it can kick you in the stomach.
