People with thick hair are truly blessed with the amount of time they get to spend doing their hair. Sometimes it gets frustrating, but the endless number of hairstyles and products you get to try out make up for it. These are just some of the phrases that thick haired ladies hear over and over again:
1. “Wow you have very thick hair.” The most common phrase anyone with thick hair hears on the reg. Especially at the hair salon, this phrase is said over and over again. The biggest question is how does one respond to it? Thank you?

2. “You don’t have to wash your hair every day?” This may be surprising to some people, but thick hair doesn’t need to be washed every day. Two or three times a week will do. The endless layers can hide anything.
3. “What do you mean the helmet doesn’t fit?” Hats, helmets, anything that tightly compacts the mane is always a struggle for thick-haired people. Either they don’t fit, are extremely uncomfortable, or just make you look like a freak. Try to stay away from anything that requires you to smash your hair under it.

4. “Do you want to shower first?” This should never even be a question to ask someone with thick hair. Though it takes an especially long time to wash the mane, the drying process is a much longer and highly anticipated process. Thick-haired ladies should always shower first to avoid being that girl at the party with wet hair.

5. “Just brush your hair quickly so we can leave” First off, there is nothing “quick” about having thick hair. Also, the word “brushing” is not in their vocabulary.

6. “Who clogged the shower drain again?” This question is always targeted at the person in the house with the most hair. Though this person may try to deny the fact that it is from everyone in the house, everyone knows the truth.

7. “You aren’t done getting ready yet?” Coming from a person with extremely thick hair, this question is the most frustrating. People that only take 10 minutes to get ready, I applaud you but also scold you at the same time. If you chose to blow dry your hair, which is very rare, the process is probably doubled and the straightening process probably compares to getting your hair done for prom.

8. “Where do you get all this hair from?” Whether it is hereditary or just surprising, this question is tricky to answer. I guess you are supposed to picture your dad with long hair but that probably wouldn’t be a very accurate estimation. The easiest way to answer would probably be mom, even though her amount of hair doesn’t nearly compare to yours.
9. “Why do you always need to borrow a hair tie?” People with thick hair go through hair ties quicker than they go through food. They are always picking them up at the store but even that is never enough.
Having thick hair has its obstacles, but in the end the mane kind of serves as a protector. It protects you from the cold, and you never actually feel the pain of brushing it. At the end of the day, you know you wouldn’t trade it for the world, and you get the best hair flips out of it.
