10 Perks Of Being A Nanny

Gotta love those little boogers we spend too much time with, willingly.

10 Perks Of Being A Nanny

You can't live with them, you can't live without them. You know who I'm talking about — kids. Whether you grew up with siblings, have a kid of your own or are the lucky one who was chosen to nanny, you can't escape them. They're a blessing and a curse, but the best kind of kids are those that aren't yours. You know it's true: you reap the reward but you don't have to do the dirty work — a.k.a, birthing them, punishing them or emptying your pockets at every becking call. If you're a nanny, then you will find the following perks true and funny. We all have our moments of being nannies, but at the end of the day, we love our kids dearly!

1. Free Birth Control

This is probably the best part about it. We take care of these kids we love so much, but the second we see their sassy side and hissy fits, we know that this whole "mom" life isn't for us. At least, for now.

2. Flexible Hours

God bless your nanny family for the countless times you have called them freaking out about school or something, and they have so graciously given you the day off to collect yourself.

3. Tax-free Money

Okay, I lied. This is by far the best part. The straight cash payments that you receive on a weekly basis, tax-free and better than any other job.

4. Food

Whether it's when you take the kids out to eat or you're snacking on their delicious pantry when you're watching the kids — you won't go hungry. God bless the free food, because there are many days, sometimes weeks, where if it wasn't for the family's stash, then you may not have eaten at all.

5. Learning Patience

If you didn't have patience before, you sure do now. Having to put up with kids that aren't your own will surely teach you that.

6. Making Connections

This might just be your big break. Whether it's with your own nanny family, or their friends, you are bound to meet someone who might just further your career post-graduation.

7. Learning To Be A Parent

Being a nanny is kind of like a practice run, without the birth and loss of money and sleep. Take this opportunity to make sure that you don't make too many mistakes when it's your turn.

8. Keeping Up With The Cool Stuff

We are all so busy with our school work that sometimes we aren't always in the know. Well, leave it to our nanny kids to never let us down by always teaching us the latest dance moves and sayings.

9. The Drama

As much as we hated the days of middle and high school, the drama is so ridiculous that it's hard not to laugh. From boys to friends, to everything else, kids love to obsess over everything - and we love being in the know.

10. Having Little Best Friends

Sometimes our friends just really grind our gears. Often the remedy to that is having little peeps as some of our best friends.

Thanks nanny kids for keeping us young, making sure we don't have kids too early and always keep us entertained! We love you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
