We all love college. But it's nice to get away. Whether it's for a month, week, or just a weekend, coming home from college brings the simplest of joys to our hectic and stressful lives. And no one knows the joys of little things better than the cast of "New Girl."
1. A home cooked meal.

I don't care how much you love dining hall food. At some point, eating something that came just out of the oven you know was made with love and care and probably at your request is one of the best parts of coming home.
2. Real adults paying for things.

We're all in the same boat as poor college students, so when people with actual jobs who are real adults offer to pay for something, or multiple somethings, it's an automatic yes and thank you to the people with the paychecks.
3. Free Laundry.

Along the same lines of being pretty poor, doing laundry at school is such a hassle. You have to time it right so there aren't a lot of people around, you have to have the proper amount of quarters and heaven forbid if you forget to separate the whites from the colors. At home, this is a bit more simple. You're with your parents, real people who understand complicated things like laundry. They'll help you out. And oh, by the way, no quarters necessary.
4. Seeing old friends, or bringing home your college ones.

We're surrounded by people 24/7 at school. From roommates to classmates to fraternity brothers and sorority sisters, it's nice to take some time off. Don't think of it as taking a hiatus from your college friendships, think of it as coming home to your old high school friends, swapping stories about that party where you threw up in the jungle juice, that paper you aced without even reading the book, or little things that happened that made you think of your high school buddies. Coming home from college also presents itself with the opportunity to bring home some college friends, so they can see you in your natural habitat.
5. Stress free.

For some reason, coming home makes one feel less stressed. Up at school, we are constantly thinking about seeing this person, studying for that exam, getting our costume together for such and such party. At home, you're away from all of that. You're away from your dorm room, the library, that Michael's store where you get all of your best costume equipment, you're home for a breather. It's nice to de-stress and stay cool.
6. Not sharing a bathroom with strangers.

Public bathrooms are weird, and super uncomfortable. You see people you barely even know in towels, with no make up, all the while trying to say hi while you pass them in the hall way. It's awkward to say the least. At home, you can say good bye to your shower shoes and so long to the long hallway walk to the showers. Also put that shower caddy down, you won't be needing that.
7. Pets.

The best part of coming home, in my opinion, is your furry welcoming committee. If you have a pet, you know the feels that I'm feeling. Because when you feel the feelings of seeing your beloved pet for the first time in weeks, all the hours of travel and time you spent apart is worth it.
8. Sleeping in.

Now, we do get to sleep in at college, but sleeping in your own bed at home is just completely different. Waking up at whatever hour and realizing you're not in the tiny twin bed from your dorm is a gift from the sleeping gods.
9. Seeing how your home has changed, or stayed the same.

Only when you come home from college do you realize how much has changed. Whether it's the season, the holiday time, or the new youths walking about your old high school and former hangout spots, it's kind of weird. But somethings don't change. Unless you have those type of parents who like to renovate your house as soon as you leave, then things might be different.
10. Finally catching up on all that Netflix.

Oh for the love of Netflix. Praise the gods of binge watching because you finally have time to watch all those seasons of "New Girl" you've missed.
