10 Perfect Gifts For The Average College Student
Christmas Gift Guide 2015

With the fantastic holiday coming up quicker than we think, everyone is scrambling to find something to get for their family and friends. Well, look no further, because if that family member or friend is a college student, I have the perfect, cheapest, simplest list of gifts for you!

1. Rent Paid

Well, I thought I would start the list with something small, as to not make whoever is reading this feel overwhelmed. Just a small donation of a month or five paid in rent is a fantastic gift for any college student. And why should you stop there? Well I mean, rent is just a small gift. Make it a big one by also picking up that phone bill, maybe the car insurance payment, or you know, possibly every other bill they have. It is just the small things that mean the most!

2. Sleep

One thing all students lack? Sleep. One thing students manage to survive without? Sleep. One thing that all students want more than anything? Sleep. If you are picking up what I am throwing down here, I feel as if you may come up with a great gift, so become Mr. Sandman and give your college student some dreams!

3. Good Grades

Do you notice your college student studying yet complaining about their GPA? If so, then I have the perfect gift for you! Give your college student the gift of good grades! This simple task will lead to a life full of happiness! (at least until next semester when their grades go back to normal) So be thoughtful this Christmas Season and buy the Good Grade Package, which gives you at least a B+ in up to 5 classes, a guaranteed GPA booster for your college student!

4. Motivation

Now, some of you may see your college student studying hard, while others may see them doing nothing. If that is your case, then the perfect gift for you to get them is motivation. Motivation is the key to success, but it seems that some college students just can’t afford it themselves, therefore, none of them really have it. That is why motivation is a very high-seller around Christmas time. So, stop by the mall nearest you today to pick up a year’s supply of motivation! Your college student surely will be grateful!

5. Unlimited Food/Beer

Most college students live off Ramen Noodles, PB&J sandwiches, and of course, beer. Well, I say it is time to put an end to that and buy them unlimited food for the year! Stock up that fridge and pantry with the healthiest of foods including Oreo’s, Pizza Rolls, and all the Hot Pockets you could imagine. Also, have them pick their favorite beer, and it will be delivered to them once a week for the rest of the year. Now that is something they will really enjoy.

6. Reliable Transportation

Some may still have their clunker from when they were 16, some were lucky enough that their very wealthy parents bought them a nice new one, but all that aside, all students want reliable transportation. If your college student has a clunker, buy them a nice new car for Christmas. By a nice new car, I’m thinking maybe a Mustang (2010 or later please). Or how about a Camaro, a Charger, possibly a Hummer. Just remember, reliable is the key. Nothing too fancy, which is why I picked some basic starter cars to mention in this post.

7. Free Parking

So they have reliable transportation? You know what goes perfectly with that? Free parking at school! Is your college student tired of parking tickets? Are they tired of searching forever for a spot? Are you tired of helping pay those tickets? Supply them with free parking and everyone’s year will be better.

8. Unlimited Gas

Another thing that goes hand in hand with a reliable car is gas. Don’t make your student pay an arm and a leg on gas, just give them a year’s supply. It shouldn’t cost too much for you, but it will mean the world to them!

9. A Puppy

Every college student needs a best friend, and what better friend to give them than a new puppy? Of course, you may have to stop by and make sure you pick up after the puppy, feed the puppy, and take the puppy for a walk because your college student obviously doesn’t have the time to do it, but a puppy would be the greatest gift this season.

10. College Tuition Paid

I saved the best idea for last. The thing every college student wants more than anything and will just be a quick slide of your credit card to give them. Pay off the rest of their college tuition! Take that burden off their shoulders so they can focus on themselves. While you’re at it, why don’t you pick up the student loans they owe as well, I mean, you already have your wallet out, what are a few thousand more dollars going to hurt? I know your college student will be very happy with this present.

So there you have it! The best and simplest gifts you can get your college student this year for Christmas! These basic and easy to get presents will make you the best gift-giver in the world, and trust me, the smile of your college students face will reassure you that it is, in fact, the little things that count!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
