I can’t think of a better time to find a new TV show than while you’re dodging your relatives ridiculous questions while simultaneously avoiding your school email for the final grades. Here are 10 great shows to take your mind of the misfortune of the last semester…
1. "Jane the Virgin" (2014-): a catholic girl (Gina Rodriguez) who has never made a mistake in receives a plot twist that will change her life for now and forever. Her future, graduate school, engagement, virginity? It’s all put on the line because of one rich entitled doctors mistake. This show is definitely bound to make you feel a little less horrible about last semester.
2. "Young & Hungry" – Emily Osment stars as a personal chef for a young entrepreneur and after an awkward one-night-stand she tries her best to balance her job and her emotions.
3. "Master of None" (2015-): This show stars Aziz Ansari, a hilarious comic, however in this show he is Dev. A 32-year-old man pursuing his acting career in the Big Apple. A great show to wind down to in relation to all of the chaos of finals.
4. "Scandal" - A plot built on a bed of secrets, lies, and the most amount of chaos that a show can handle. A very powerful group of people work together to handling crises that go on in and outside of the White House. Don’t worry about what your grandma thinks, you’re life at school has nothing on this show.
5. "Orange is the new Black" – Piper Chapman is locked up with her fiancé and her entire life waiting on the outside. The guards are corrupted, the executive assistant to the warden is stealing, and the women are downright insane. Sit tight the three season show is bound to take your mind off the fact you got socks from your grandma, for the third Christmas in a row.
6. "Reign" – a drama following Mary, Queen of Scots, this is a very dramatized version of what really went on beginning in 1557. Engaged to be the Queen of France to merge the two kingdoms but her heart pulls in another direction. Period pieces, what an amazing way to escape the reality!
7. "Grace and Frankie" – A comedy about two enemies who miraculously become friends when their husbands tell them that they’re leaving them for each other. Who else can they turn to, to understand what an unpredictable situation? They move in together to pay the bills and the rest is for you to find out…
8. "Wet Hot American Summer" – What you watch to forget it’s winter, taking place in the summer of 1981, a story where all of the counselors and campers that begin the summers of their lives. This comedy is a prequel to a film that ‘s already been released.
9. "Daredevil" – the American TV series based on the Marvel Comics. The first season will follow a lawyer, Matt Murdock, who’s blind and uses his senses that are heightened to fight crime by night as ‘Daredevil.’
10. "Bloodline" – another Netflix original that follows the Rayburn family. A family who lives in the Florida Keys and own a hotel on the beach. The show brings a party in honor of the 45th year of the Rayburn House. All is well until their eldest son shows up and brings crimes of the current and the past.
