Binge watching shows on Netflix has become very popular, and actually quite easy to do. Since the semester is over, and college students will most likely have time to relax over break, why not start a whole new show and then finish it? There are certain shows where you just can't stop watching, literally. And sooner or later you find yourself staring at a blank screen questioning everything you know.
Here are some great options to end your boredom and really prove your laziness over break this year:
1. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"
This show follows four friends who all help run a bar located in Philadelphia. The show consists of crude humor and shenanigans. They also connect many references to actual world events.
2. "Breaking Bad"
This show follows a high school chemistry teacher who resorts to making and selling Methamphetamine to fund his cancer treatments. It is suspenseful and has strong character development. This show is very easy to binge watch, as many episodes end with unanswered questions.
3. "The Office"
"The Office" follows employees of paper company located in Scranton, Penn. It is based on the British version of the same name. This show has many quotable moments and the unique aspect of fake interviews with the characters in the show.
4. "Scandal"
"Scandal" tells the story of Pope and Associates, which is a crisis management firm located in Washington, D.C. Each episode usually follows a different case, involving senators and even the President of the United States. There is also hidden plots and room for viewers to make their own predictions. Many famous political scandals are used for ideas in the show as well.
5. "Freaks and Geeks"
Even though this show only ran for one season, it really is worth watching (and it won't take much time to finish). The characters are in high school and are clearly defined into cliques. It is a hilarious coming of age show that is very relatable.
6. "The 100"
This series is set after a nuclear war has wiped out almost all human activity on Earth. It is a sci-fi show that is easy to get attached to. There are themes of romance, adventure, and survival among the characters, with plot lines that make one think about humanity.
7. "Bob's Burgers"
This show is centered around a family who lives above their restaurant. It is an adult cartoon with funny family angst. It is also very popular among college-aged students.
8. "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"
Even though this show has a lot of seasons (which are not all on Netflix), it is still very entertaining. Characters have changed over the course of many seasons, but the stories stay interesting and suspenseful.
9. "Scrubs"
"Scrubs" is both comical and serious, following the medical residents and staff of a hospital. Each character has distinct personality traits and seeing them all work together pulls you into the series.
10. "The Carrie Diaries"
This is a prequel to "Sex and the City." It follows Carrie Bradshaw as she is in high school with dreams of living in New York City to work for a fashion magazine. It's also short with only two seasons, so it is easy to finish over break.
