Every year people of all ages look forward to the start of ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas because the channel presents continuous holiday themed movies starting December 1. This festive entertainment gets people in the holiday spirit right after Thanksgiving.
The program includes a mix of holiday classics and newer holiday movies so that everyone can view their favorites on ABC Family during this time. I put together a list of 10 movies that are appearing on ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas that everyone must make time to watch.
1. "The Polar Express"
This is a holiday favorite for many people because it definitely pulls at the heartstrings. The animated movie was released in 2004 and is based on the children’s book with the same title. Honestly, how can you not cry when watching this movie?
2. "Elf"
This light-hearted holiday comedy was released in 2003 and it immediately became a holiday favorite. Will Ferrell stars in this hilarious holiday movie that can put anyone in a good mood.
3. "Home Alone: The Holiday Heist"
Even though this movie does not even come close to comparing with the original "Home Alone" movie, it is still worth taking the time to watch. It was released in 2012 and places a unique spin on the original movie.
4. "Love Actually"
Who does not love a good romantic comedy? This movie, which was released in 2003, takes place in London and shares the “love stories” of many different people who become interlinked at the end of the movie.
5. "Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas"
Everyone knows this story and yet it still never gets old. This movie came out in 2003 and is definitely a must-see movie during the holiday season.
6. "Fred Claus"
It has such a crazy plot, but it is still fun to watch because it is actually hilarious. Many people can relate to the intense sibling rivalry in this comedy. It was released in 2007 and Vince Vaughn stars in the movie.
7. "The Santa Clause"
This movie came out in 1994 and was the first of a trilogy of "Santa Clause" movies. In this Christmas comedy, Tim Allen's character takes over Santa’s job on Christmas Eve.
8. "Santa Baby"
The ABC Family original movie appeared on television in 2006 and captured audiences with an amusing but very unrealistic plot. Jenny McCarthy stars as Santa's daughter in this movie, and her character goes on a crazy adventure that you have to see to believe.
9. "Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause"
This is the third movie in "The Santa Clause" trilogy and it meets the high standards set by the first two movies. It came out in 2006 and it includes new and exciting Christmas adventures.
10. "Christmas Cupid"
I definitely would not consider this movie a Christmas classic, but I recently watched it on television and I found that it was a really cute and lighthearted holiday movie. To be honest, I figured it had to appear on this list, considering Chad Michael Murray is one of the stars.
