Summer is a time in fashion when a person must master being extremely stylish, but also keep it cool against the rising hot temperatures. Luckily this summer, new trends have emerged that will keep you looking great and feeling even better!

1. Jumpsuits/Rompers
Rompers are always perfect for summer because they have the look of a sundress, but with shorts, so they are extremely versatile. Jumpsuits are especially popular this summer and can be worn very casually on a summer day or night out with friends. Several celebrities have been seen sporting this trend on the red carpet.
2. Printed Pants/Shorts
Almost every store you go into will carry a pair of printed pants or shorts for the summer season. These bottoms come in various prints including floral, tribal or even animal print. They are super-easy to pair with a basic crop top or everyday tank. These bottoms can also be dressed up or dressed down with the right accessories. They are the perfect summertime essential and can be extremely cheap or expensive depending on what you are looking to invest in.
3. Denim on Denim
This trend has become immensely popular in the celebrity tabloids as well as on the streets of NYC. It is perfect for everyday wear especially in the city, but can sometimes be hard to pull off. The trick to this trend: pick two different colored denims and fabrics to avoid the awkward denim set look.
4. Crop Top/ Midi Skirt
We have seen crop tops for the past few years in the summer trends, but there’s a new amazing addition to this essential basic. Midi Skirts! This combination of the crop top and midi looks stunning when paired together. This trend is perfect for a night out or even for a more formal occasion such as a rehearsal dinner or even a wedding. This is my favorite trend of summer, and I think that everyone should have at least one of these outfits in their collection!
5. Strappy Bikinis/ Triangl Swimwear
Whether it’s Mikoh’s strappy bikini or Triangl Swimwear’s colorful neoprene bikinis, these swimsuits are guaranteed to make you stand out at the beach. Mikoh is a popular swimwear company that specializes in bikinis with extravagant back details. Although they may give you some strange tan lines, they look awesome in person and in photos (perfect for instagram!) Triangl Swimwear is another popular company that creates bikinis from the same fabric as scuba suits! There are tons of different styles and bright colors to choose from to add to your swimsuit collection. Victoria’s Secret makes knockoff versions of both of these companies’ swimsuits, because they are both a tad expensive.
6. Shirt Dresses
This trend has been popping up in hundreds of stores including Brandy Melville, Asos and even Abercrombie & Fitch. There are three types of shirt dresses that are on the market right now: T-shirt dresses, denim shirt dresses and regular oversized shirt dresses. The T-shirt dresses are the most casual and are great for going out shopping or wearing to class. The oversized shirtdresses are dressier and are better for a night out or to wear to work.
7. Birkenstocks
Birkenstocks are making a comeback! These comfy sandals are back and better than ever with new styles and colors for the summer season. Birkenstocks are extremely easy to slip on, but manage to still keep you looking stylish everyday. Several companies, such as Steve Madden, have made knock-offs of these fashionable sandals since the real Birkenstocks can be pricey. My advice: splurge on these! You won’t regret it.
8. Festival Sunglasses
You see every celebrity wearing these in their Instagram selfies, the festival sunglasses are a huge trend this summer. Quay, a popular Australian brand, features hundreds of different styles of funky sunglasses at a moderate price range! Whether you’re going to a music festival or just hanging out by your pool, these sunglasses are a must have!
9. Arm and Ear Cuffs
We have been seeing this trend all over the red carpet and the runway, and it has continued into the summer months. Arm and ear cuffs are unique jewelry statements that can be paired with almost any outfit. They can be found in any store with varying prices depending on the type of metal used. Add them to a plain outfit and your look will be transformed!
10. Bucket Bags
Bucket bags have the usefulness of a cross-body bag, but the space of a regular tote. They have been seen on the runway and on the streets of NYC. They are the perfect effortless addition to any outfit and can be worn during any season! Ditch your other bags, and buy yourself one of these. You’ll be shocked how much you use it!
