As most of us, I am a broke college student who still is not twenty-fun. So, when faced with the decision of what to do for Spring Break, the most logical option is to spend the least amount of money and to be with some awesome people while you are at it. This Spring Break, my best friend and I ventured to the deep south, Boone, North Carolina, to get a waft of fresh air. The only catch: a ten hour car ride.
Hour 1: 6:00 a.m.
Fresh faced and ready to hit the road, and not even only four hours of sleep can bring us down. All we can think about is cruising on the open road and taking in some culture.
Hour 2: 7:00 a.m.
We are still not out of New Jersey. I thought New Jersey was small. I have never heard of these towns before. What are the rest of the states going to be like? It's already an hour and we are still not out of New Jersey.
Hour 3: 8:00 a.m.
Cannot quite remember. Probably some snoring (I fell asleep).
Hour 4: 9:00 a.m.
First rest stop. I had no idea they sold camo at rest stops. I guess that's Pennsylvania for ya.
Hour 5: 10:00 a.m.
How did we already finish every song on our Spotify playlist? There were five hours ... Oh. Five hours worth of music only gets you through half of a ten hour car trip. Just saying.
Hour 6: 11:00 a.m.
So podcasts are a thing. If you are looking for a recommendation, "Serial" season one is straight fire.
Hour 7: 12:00 p.m.
Who killed Han Min Lee? I believe Adnan. How could Jay make up a story like that? But yeah, podcasts are a thing and everyone should know about them. Make podcast a thing 2k16!
Hour 8: 1:00 p.m.
How can a state be as boring as Virginia? It looks the same everywhere. What is that smell? I think cows outnumber people here.
Hour 9: 2:00 p.m.
I am almost certain I know every word of Kanye's new album. No more parties in LA!! Kanye, I get you.
Hour 10: 3:00 p.m.
Finally, the time has come. There is no conversation. Not sure if it is sleep deprivation or just that we ran out of things to talk about. All I know is, the mutual excitement to have one of the best weeks in our college career is so real.
Here is to best friends. Here is to Spring Break. Here is to cows.
