Living a healthy life is more than just being skinny and dropping weight to look good in that bikini. It's more about being happy with yourself, loving your body, and feeling amazing in your own skin! It's not all about the scale and fitting into those skinny jeans, healthy starts when you feel happy and when you fall in love with your body and your self. And a healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, but it changes your attitude and mind. So love yourself enough to create and live that healthy lifestyle. You can start your journey by focusing on these ten tips to get healthy before the end of the summer! Legging and sweater weather is fast approaching, so why not feel and look comfortable year round?! Health isn't seasonal.

1. Drink plenty of water!

Especially if you're working out every day, staying hydrated is crucial! But overall, if you keep hydrated every day, you'll see changes in your body before you know it!

2. Try to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

You don't have to be a pro athlete to exercise and get fit. Even if it's just a walk around the neighborhood-- get active! Your body will thank you later.

3. Read. Anything. Everyday.

Exercising your mind is just as important as lifting weights at the gym. Knowledge is power. So even if it's just reading a bit before bed, try to set aside some time to expand your knowledge and escape reality for a bit.

4. Get on a sleep schedule.

Everyone tries so hard to get fit while killing it at the gym, but then we stay up all hours of the night and aren't giving our bodies the appropriate rest. Rest days help you get healthy just as much as leg day.

5. Self Reflect.

If it's possible, try to set aside time every morning, night, or maybe even once a week to sit down and reflect on yourself. Whether it be your plans for the upcoming week or some goals you want to set for yourself-- jot them down! It not only works as motivation, but it helps clear and organize your mind!

6. Eat your fruits and veggies.

Your body is a machine, so if you want your body to run well, feed your body with the healthy fuels it needs. These little changes every day will change your mood completely, believe me!

7. Take time for yourself!

You're working hard, you have to reward yourself right?! So take the time to do so! Whether it be a warm bath and face mask, or just taking the time to nap and relax a bit, do it! You deserve it!

8. Plan your day.

Schedules hold you accountable and if you schedule in time to work out or cook your meals, you'll be more likely to stick to it. Plus, you're overall just more organized which will create a happy and productive day every day!

9. Stop comparing yourself to others.

You are an individual, meaning you won't have the same goals or hurdles as other people. Stop comparing yourself to others on Instagram or at the gym and be positive. You're doing something great by getting healthy. Keep pushing.

10. Set goals.

Last but not least, set goals. Not just any goals, goals that will benefit your life and better you as a person! Setting unrealistic goals will just upset you, so be realistic and trust the process. You'll get there with the hard work and dedication I know you possess.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
