With college back in session, there is one thing consuming everyone's thoughts. "When is the first home football game?" The anticipation for the year is high and everyone is ready for all the fun that football games entail. Man, does it feel good to be in football season again. With that in mind here are some game day essentials that will ensure you game day is the best yet.
1. A Plan
If I could stress this a hundred times I would. Going into gameday with a rough outline of where all you are planning to go for the day will make things incredibly easy for your group when it comes down to having to make decisions the day of.
2. Portable Phone Charger
Chances are, you have never seen a phone die so fast before gameday. With the endless amount of pictures that need to be taken in your adorable new gameday dress, and plans that need to be confirmed, I would invest in a portable phone charger to keep your battery alive all day long.
3. Friends
What's a gameday without friends? Friends increase the hype and morale for the day, while also helping you perfect your makeup and fix your hair.
4. Towel
While most of the time towels are provided for the "Sandstorm" it is never a bad idea to shove one in your purse just in case, because you certainly do not want to miss the hype that is the Sandstorm in Williams Brice Stadium.
5. Water
Especially when it is an end of summer game with temperatures close to 100 degrees, it is incredibly important to stay hydrated so you do not pass out and miss all the fun.
6. Cute Dress
Hands down, one of my favorite parts of gameday is getting to dress up. Shopping with friends at local boutiques for the latest gameday colored dresses is always a blast.
7. Food
With so much going on during a gameday weekend, it is easy to get too busy to remember to eat. Make sure you carve out a half hour and run and grab some food so your energy is high and you're not hangry the rest of the day.
8. Ride
To find parking on gameday without spending a fortune is nearly impossible. It is best to coordinate rides ahead of time to park at someone's apartment, or plan on Ubering to the game and tailgate. Parking and finding a ride is one thing often overlooked that ends up causing the most headaches on gamedays.
9. Cash/Venmo
The beauty of technology is that it gives you an app called Venmo that allows you to pay your friends back without having to carry cash. Having cash or a Venmo setup to pay friends back for food, drinks, or all of the above makes for an easy way to not stress about holding a debit card all day.
10. Pumped Attitude
Gamedays are one of the most fun and most memorable times of your college career. Being excited and positive about the whole day will help to ensure it is an overall a memorable day.
