10 Fun Things to do in New York City

The weather is warming up, the Christmas lights are down, and procrastination is in full swing. I don't know about you when midterm season is in full swing, there's nothing I want to do more than escape campus for a few hours and have some fun that is not your "15 minute turning into a 4 hour" TikTok break while writing a paper. Being at Fordham, there's nowhere better to go than the Capital of the World itself- New York City. So put away your backpack, grab some friends, beg your mom to venmo you some money and go have some fun!!!

Soho- shop, take some Instagram pictures and try to spot a celebrity (or just one of those random people you follow on Instagram who was 200,000 followers)

MoMA- The MoMA is definitely the coolest yet "educational" museum in the city, all I'm saying is that if you go, your instagram stories will be poppin'

Chinatown- Chinatown is a very fun experience and soup dumplings are the most amazing thing to grace this earth

Glossier- go to Glossier, get some amazing skincare and makeup and don't forget to take some pictures

Central Park- Personally, my friends and I are waiting until it gets warmer to have a cute little picnic in Central Park, pretty cute I know

The MET- it doesn't ever hurt to try and be "educational", also Gossip Girl

Karaoke- put on a fun outfit and head to Korea Town for a night of annoying girls singing the most annoying songs, but having the best time

Eat at a Fun yet Good Restaurant- May I recommend The Smith? There are multiple locations, a cool black and white interior, photo booths and the mac and cheese is literally scrumptious

Studs- Studs is a really cool and "trendy" ear piercing place that I have been obsessing over. Also, mom if you're reading this can i pleeeaaassseee get my second piercing?

Go to a Psychic- This may sound weird but it's such a fun way to waste money. Will you find out anything real about your life? No. Will you find out if the boy who you always see in the Starbucks line likes you? Nope. Will you get subtly offended and burst out in awkward laughter? Most likely.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
