We have all been there before, when we are sitting with our significant other and trying to come up with some new and exciting date ideas. For whatever reason it may be, our mind blanks and we end up stuck doing the same thing we have done hundreds of times before. But nothing is worse than settling for the same date activity over and over again when there are numerous other fun things you two could be doing instead. This summer, spice things up and try some of these fun date ideas!

1. Drive-Ins

Drive-ins are one of the oldest date night ideas, but to this day they are still popular. With all of the new scary movies coming out this summer, The Purge and The Shallows, or even fun movies like Finding Dory and Bad Moms, drive-ins remain the perfect date night idea for this summer.

2. Mini Golf

Mini golf is always a fun date idea for the summer time, especially the glow-in-the-dark courses. One of the best parts about mini golf is that there is almost always ice cream nearby for afterwards.

3. Trip to the Beach

Going to the beach or a lake is definitely one of the more relaxing ideas for the summertime. Pack a few healthy snacks and a big towel to lay on while the two of you soak up the sun for the day.

4. Museums

Going to the museum can be a really fun date idea because it allows you to get to know one another on a deeper level. There are a variety of different types of museums to go to, including art, science, history, etc., so the two of you are bound to find something close by that is of interest to you.

5. Outdoor Concerts

Despite how rowdy some outdoor concerts can get, they can be a really fun date idea, especially when you are used to just having a "Netflix and chill" night. The best part about outdoor concerts is being able to relax and enjoy some good music.

6. Carnivals and Festivals

There is nothing not to like about carnival dates. You get to eat a bunch of fried food, convince your date to try to win you a cute stuffed animal, and check out the amazing views from the very top of the ferris wheel.

7. Hiking

Hiking can be a great idea for a date, especially one that involves great views at the top. Pack yourself a healthy lunch to eat once you make it to the top for an excuse to stay longer and appreciate the views.

8. Theme Parks and Water Parks

Theme parks and water parks can be a great idea for those hot summer days. With the wind cooling you down on the roller coasters and the water slides keeping you refreshed, this is always a great idea for some adventure and entertainment.

9. Mini Road Trip

It does not seem to matter where you are going when you go on a road trip, just as long as you have good company, and good music. But for an epic date idea, plan a road trip somewhere not too far away and spend the day enjoying each other's company on the ride there.

10. Camping

Camping can be a great idea if you pack all of the right equipment, s'mores, a bunch of blankets, and maybe even some fishing poles. It is also a relatively cheap date idea and can be a lot of fun if you choose to camp along the water.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
