Fall is the season of giving and being thankful. This is the season to either stay inside with friends or to get outside before the first snow fall. Fall is full of activates to partake in with a few friends or a large group of friends! I always take this time to hang out outside as much as possible but there are always those days where staying inside sounds like the better option. So here are a few activities that you can do this season!
1. Visit a corn maze
What's more fun than getting lost with a bunch of your friends?! Well, maybe a few things! Visiting a corn maze can be challenging and fun! You and your friends are bound to have fun doing this and yelling out where you are in the maze and wondering how long you've actually been out there! Trust me, it can seem like an eternity if you don't know where you're going!
There is a local corn maze at the Wheeler Farms! Their theme this year is Finding Dory and the season begins September 17th - October 30. Friday, Saturday and Sundays only.
2. Go apple picking
Apple picking can be so much fun! You and your friends get a bag, or multiple bags, and have a it! There are many different kinds of apples to choose from too! You'll also be able to test your skills at climbing a tree just to get the biggest apple!
Here's a local orchard for your viewing pleasure.
3. Read outside
Reading outside in the fall is so relaxing and calm. The leaves are changing color before your eyes and they're falling all around you. And if you're like me you'll want to sit outside the Admin building where the albino squirrels live! They are just so cute!
4. Go to a pumpkin patch
Who doesn’t love picking out cute little pumpkins for your small apartment or your tiny dorm?! Or if you're lucky enough to pick out a huge pumpkin for the front porch of your house, then I'm jealous! Going to a pumpkin patch is always a fun experience and you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a ton of pumpkins! A lot of times they have like a "buy 3 for a dollar" kind of deal! And come on you know a dolla makes you holla!
5. Have a popcorn movie day
All you have to buy is the popcorn or if you want to red box a movie that's cheap too! I love staying inside on those cold fall nights snuggled up in the blanket with a very large bowl of buttery popcorn and a movie. You can do this alone or with friends!
6. Visit a local festival
Fall festivals are the best because it's not scorching hot! Festivals always have the best food too, and if you go in the fall they'll have all the best fall foods! Apple pie, pumpkin pie, candy apples, kettle corn, etc.! Mmmm, now you know you're craving all of that!
7. Burn fall candles
Come on, you know fall candles are the bomb.com! Pumpkin candles, the smell of leaves, the smell of coffee! My favorite is pumpkin spice candles or really anything from Bath & Body! It may be a small obsession.
8. Attend a football game
Why didn't I mention this sooner?! Football is the BEST part of fall! The fans are crazy and the teams are ready for battle. You know it's a battle if you attend BG or UT. The Battle of I-75 is iconic here!
9. Make cookies
All you need are the ingredients, which you can find anywhere on Pinterest! Pinterest is my best friend forever, no matter what you're looking for it's there somewhere!
10. Create a Halloween costume
One of the most exciting events to take place in the fall is Halloween! This is my favorite holiday and I love to go all out! Sometimes I decorate more than I should but I put a lot of thought into my costume! Sometimes you'll buy a part of your costume and add to it with your own creations or you can just put your own together! If you're like me sometimes I do it the day before and end up being a cat.
11. Go hiking
Go ahead and get out there! Get antiquated with nature in the fall! Enjoy the weather while you can because you know winter is coming!
