Super Tuesday is over and Trump and Clinton are currently winning in the polls. It’s also Female History Month so I decided to round up the top female celebrities that I would love to see run for president. Share your thoughts in the comments!
Oprah
Why hasn’t Oprah run for president yet? Oprah’s all about empowering women and supports education. In 2007 she opened the Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa to give disadvantaged girls education and leadership opportunities.
Emma Watson
She can’t be president because she wasn’t born in the US, but she would be a great president. Currently she’s the United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador and constantly supports feminism with her #HeforShe campaign. She was also Hermione Granger. That’s all.
Beyonce
She’d be all about ending racism and making sure everyone had equal rights. After the Black Lives Matter protests, Beyonce and Jay Z donated money to get victims out of jail and met with families.
Jennifer Lawrence
I can guarantee we’d all get free pizza if JLaw were president. She’s also an open supporter of feminism and would probably fight to end the gender wage gap. She’s also hilarious and would get more people to tune into press conferences.
Angelina Jolie
We’d have great foreign relations and a great first man if Angelina were president. Angelina has served on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since the late 2000s and supports finding refugees safe homes.
Amy Poehler
She can already do a great Hilary Clinton impression on SNL, and she stated Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. She’s hilarious and cares about equality. I think she would be a great president.
Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen is a huge animal rights activist and is all about equality. She’s poised, funny, and has a great heart. Maybe she would also do the 12 days of give away to everyone?
Taylor Swift
I know Taylor Swift is basic, but she’s extremely charitable. She always does Swiftmas for her fans, donated 250,000 dollars to Kesha so that she can leave Dr. Luke, and gave one of her fans money for college. She’d also have an amazing squad as prez. Let’s not forget she’s also all about empowering women.
Viola Davis
Viola would help people (specifically women) of color get more opportunity. She’d work on giving people more opportunities in education and the workforce. “The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity.” She’s also part of the Hunger Is campaign.
Lavrene Cox
Lavrene would help the LGBTQ+ community by educating the public, creating gender neutral bathrooms, and making sure LGBTQ+ people are given equal rights.
