Summer is now among us, so we can finally warmly embrace the fashion trends of 2016. The gladiator trend still remains huge, '70s suede is now in style, and chokers are the new statement necklaces, but what trending article will make the biggest dent in your closet this summer?

I’ve put together 10 looks that will most influence your wardrobe choices this summer, from sandals to skirts to jewelry.

1.'70s-inspired suede

They always say what goes around comes back around. Well, the '70s suede trend is here and groovier than ever.

2. Matching sets

This “slashed in half” look is one of the top trends of the summer.

3. Rips, rips, and more rips

This new ripped look is not limited to just jeans, it also lends itself to tops now. Rugged, ripped-up tops are hot, hot, hot.

4. Mesh

Girly lace is out and mesh is in! It can be sported in a bodysuit, t-shirt, or dress to spice up any outfit.

5. Denim

Summer weather is the perfect time to test out the new denim trends.

6. Chokers

These jewelry pieces have proved to be one of the biggest summer trends yet. Whether these pieces are simple or trimmed in embellishments, they accompany any outfit with a striking statement.

7. Gladiators

Another summer, another gladiator trend. You could rock them casually during the day or make a statement at night!

8. Exposed shoulders

Showing off your neckline and shoulders is the perfect summer trend.

9. Belts

Say goodbye to the days of belts only accessorizing pants and skirts. They are now also accompanying dresses and shirts. The styles range from leather to embroidered to belts with buckles.

10. Sneakers

Long gone are the days when sneakers were only worn with athletic apparel. They are now being worn with skirts and dresses. Sneakers are here to stay, but hey, who says they have to be plain?

Fashion trends are constantly changing according to season, so why not embrace them while they’re present?

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
