The Botanic Garden has to be one of the most beautiful buildings in DC, as it is literally a massive greenhouse bursting with color. During the holiday season they decorate the entire place with beautiful ornaments, holiday flowers, and a massive Christmas tree.

Although this might be most interesting to those who celebrate Christmas, this event is both special and historic to the DMV area. Every year since 1923, a massive tree is brought into DC by a huge truck, and is placed in front of the White House with a crane. The special lighting of the National Tree will take place on Thursday, December 1!

This small winter wonderland takes place inside the Gaylord National Resort each year and has proven to be one of the coldest places in the DMV area! The entire thing is made of ice and there is a fun and interactive activity for groups each year!
