As the school year ends and friends start to move away, it is easy to start feeling lonely and bored. Here are 10 thoughts you probably have on a daily basis if you're alone for the summer.

1. Who can I go to lunch with?

2. Oh, not them. They're 500 miles away.

Honestly, all my friends are 500 miles away or more!

3. Not them either. Guess I don't have any friends.

4. Okay, less than 100 days until school starts back. I can do it!

If I don't count the actual days maybe they'll go by faster?

5. Maybe if I take a third nap today, time will go by faster.

6. How many times can I FaceTime someone before it's too many times?

The answer is as many times as I want. Because I'm the one that everyone left.

7. Which Netflix show should I start this month?

8. I wonder how much a plane ticket to my friends is?

Too much. That's how much. Plane tickets should be cheaper.

9. Do my friends love me enough to come visit me?

10. Maybe they're not actually my friends since they left me.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.

A bad day at the lake is still better than a good day not at the lake.
