Some people think that song covers can never be better than the original version of the song. Most of the time, I would agree with these people. However, there are exceptions. Here is a list of ten songs (in no particular order) that are just as good, if not better, than the originals:

1. "Say My Name/Cry Me A River" by the Neighborhood (Originally by Destiny's Child and Justin Timberlake)

These songs are both fantastic on their own, but the mashup of the two is surprisingly seamless. Plus, the Neighborhood's lowkey approach gives the songs a jazzy vibe entirely different from the originals, which I find quite refreshing.

2. "XO" by John Mayer (Originally by Beyoncé)

Now, I will be the first to say that I love Beyoncé. However, John Mayer's version of this song is much more personal, which fits the underlying theme of the song better. Plus, the harmonica is a nice touch.

3. "Teenage Dream" by Boyce Avenue (Originally by Katy Perry)

Katy's version is more pop-y, while Boyce Avenue turns the hit into a slower serenade. The band turns the cover to the boys perspective, which really makes the song stand out. Also, Boyce Avenue goes onto change some of the lyrics of the tune from "Let's go all the way tonight, no regrets, just love" to "Let's just talk all through the night, there's no need to rush." Can you say HEARTTHROB?

4. "Chandelier" by Twisted Measure A Capella (Originally by Sia)

First of all, this cover is A Capella, which is cool enough in its own. But, it also has extremely strong vocals and puts a nice twist on an already extremely popular song.

5. "Blank Space/Style" by Louisa Wendorff (Originally by Taylor Swift)

This mashup is everything and more. The harmonies make the two songs sound perfect together, as if they are telling a story. Both vocalists are outstanding, and the instrumental is on point as well.

6. "Dancing On My Own" by Kings of Leon (Originally by Robyn)

Personally, I think this song is very delicate. Robyn's version is a little too techno for my taste, so King of Leon's acoustic approach better displays the emotion behind the song. Robyn's version makes me want to dance, while Kings of Leon's makes me want to cry... Which, in my opinion, isn't a bad thing.

7. "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Ingrid Michaelson (Originally by Elvis)

Don't get me wrong, I love Elvis with all my heart. His song will always have a special place in my heart. I don't think Ingrid's cover is necessarily better, but it does have it's merit and deserves recognition.

8. "Get Lucky" by Daughter (Originally by Daft Punk)

If you heard these versions side by side, you'd think they were two different songs... They're that different. Daft Punk is all power and pop, while Daughter's is haunting and personal. If it were up to me, I would listen to Daughter's version 10 times out of 10, but that's just me.

9. "Hotline Bling" by Kiana (Originally by Drake)

Drake's "Hotline Bling" is catchy as all get out... But Kiana's version has the passion that Drake's version lacks. I believe every word that Kiana sings, whereas Drake's version just sounds like all his other songs.

10. "Take Your Time" by Somo (Originally by Sam Hunt)

Maybe it's just me but I don't really dig Sam Hunt's whole "rap" thing... To me, it just sounds like he's speaking the lyrics. Somo spins the version so that he sings the whole thing, which I prefer. Plus, Somo's voice is as smooth as honey... What's not to love?

You're welcome and enjoy the music. :)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
