1. While the brain is the origin of pain signals, the brain does not feel any pain.

The pain that comes from headaches are actually the surrounding tissues and nerves.

2. The lining of the stomach regenerates about every three days.

This is because of the extremely acidic conditions required to break down food.

3. The liver is the only organ in the body that can regenerate itself.

4. There are over 60,000 miles of capillaries in the body.

5. About 1% of all red blood cells in the body die everyday.

But don't worry! Our bodies produce red blood cells at a rate of about 3 million per second.

6. On average, one square inch of skin contains up to 650 sweat glands and 1000 nerve endings.

No wonder that tiny paper cut between your fingers hurt so bad!

7. At age 50, the ability to distinguish between different tastes declines.

8. The foot alone contains 26 bones.

Both feet combined contain about 1/4 of the bones in the entire body!

The amount of melanin depends on genetic, environmental, and hormonal factors. Grey hair is caused by a decrease in the amount of melanin being created. White hair is the result of no melanin being created.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
