Just a few days ago it was Women's Equality Day. On August 26th, the White House announced 29 new companies signed the White House Equal Pay Pledge. Here are 10 companies that promise equal pay.
1. Apple
The tech giant says, "Equal work deserves equal pay." Apple has been examining the gap between male and female employees and promises to address any gap they find.
2. The Coca-Cola Company
"There is overwhelming evidence that achieving equality and empowerment for women has both immediate impacts that benefit them directly and broader ripple effects that are good for society," says Coca-Cola.
3. CVS Health
CVS made headlines when they took tobacco out of their stores a few years ago. Now making headlines for a new reason they "take a purposeful and systematic approach to evaluate compensation to ensure we are accountable to our pay equity commitment."
4. Dunkin' Brands
Just in time for pumpkin spice season. The coffee giant will "review our pay practices to ensure pay equity and strongly believe that a corporate culture in which each person is valued, respected and earns equal pay for equal work, delivers better business results."
5. Facebook
Rant all you want to about fair compensation. Facebook is "proud to share that at Facebook, men and women earn the same. We encourage efforts to establish methods to close the wage gaps around the world."
6. The Hershey Company
Your guilty pleasure just got a whole lot sweeter. Hershey says, "Diversity and inclusion is a commitment that is embedded in who we are. It’s about advancing our vision, our culture, and our environment, so everyone can bring a meaningful contribution."
7. Patagonia
Whether you are backpacking in the Alps or bropeding to class, Patagonia is a go-to brand. Patagonia has supported women since opening 40 years ago.
8. Nike
Keep wearing your norts to class. Nike says, "By signing the White House Equal Pay Pledge, we’re adding our voice to a movement that we hope will inspire positive change."9. Anheuser-Busch
The majority of Anheuser-Bush's marketing team is female. Proud to sign the pledge the company says, "This commitment to inclusivity begins with our mission - to be the best beer company, bringing people together for a better world - and extends to our meritocracy-based compensation practices."
10. Target
Just another reason to take a random target trip. Target says, We are proud of our internal initiatives and external partnerships, and we remain committed to improving pay processes and policies that ensure equality and fairness for all."
