On September 27, 2005, the album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" was released by the band Panic! At The Disco. And for little 7 year old me, it was my first exposure to music that wasn't my parents. In fact, the first music video I ever saw was the pop hit "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". Now while the band may not be the beautiful 4 piece that made every "emo" teenager scream, their influence on the decade and pop culture overall is undeniable. And front man Brendon Urie has managed to not only stay relevant but find more and more success. Now, since most of the original fans of Panic! are either in college or will be soon, I thought it only appropriate that I share with you, 10 Brendon Urie GIF's that perfectly explain your first semester of college.

1. When you first realize you're on your own

Ladies and gentlemen, despite your desire to get away from your parents and have the freedom to play all the beer pong your little heart desires, there will be that moment when you realize you're actually here on your own, and it's going to be mind blowing.

2. When you're showing everyone your dorm room

Even though on the inside, you'll be basically shitting your pants realizing all the responsibilities you're going to have, you just can't wait to show everyone how super cute your room is and how excited you are for "all the memories you won't remember" (real quote that someone posted on Instagram last year... she's not in college anymore).

3. When you realize how much your textbooks cost

Enough said...

4. How you feel when you get done with syllabus week

Yeah you got this...

5. How you feel when the real work begins

...yeah about that.

6. When your neighbors are being loud as hell and you're trying to study

Don't take this as a surprise... this will happen. Don't let it detour you from what you're there for! The library is a great place for a quiet place to work! And as a side note... don't be those neighbors!

7. When you're walking home from a party and you see police...

It's going to happen eventually. Now I'm not going to sit here and tell you guys not to drink when you're at school for two reasons. First, I know you're not going to listen to me, and second, I don't feel like typing out a whole suburban dad lecture about drinking. Just be smart, don't be dumb, and if you do get stopped by police, be polite (most of the time they'll let you go).

8. When you realize you're gonna fail an exam and you look at your friend.

Everyone has these moments. Not Everyone is a straight A student. As long as you put your best effort into it, no one can ask any more of you than that. And when you pass that exam, you get to bust out your happy dance!

9. When you've been pulling all nighters for 3 Days straight studying for finals and someone asks how you're doing.

Finals suck, there's no getting around that. You just have to put your head down and get through it. Don't let yourself deteriorate to the point you can only respond with the noises of a small animal. You can form a study group, or just work with a friend! Remember, no grades are more important than your mental health!

10. When you pass your classes!!!

Remember that happy dance I mentioned earlier? There you go!

All jokes aside, your first semester can seem intimidating and kind of scary, but you just need to remember that you're fantastic and you CAN do this.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
