Our lives change constantly -- some days we feel like things are changing way too fast and other days we feel as if we've been stuck in the same place forever; some days we think change is exciting and other days we think that there's nothing scarier. Change is inevitable, but that doesn't make it any less exciting or any less scary.

So, no matter how old you are, no matter where you are in your life, things are changing, you are changing, a lot is changing.
When change is hard, I look for help. And when change is exciting, I look to give thanks.
I find great comfort and strength in my faith. When I encounter different kinds of change, I always think back to certain Bible verses that have stuck with me. While I might not remember when I heard them or where I heard them, I remember them anyways.

Do you have a favorite Bible verse? Maybe you have a favorite quote? Or a song lyric that you really like? Maybe you find it applicable to your life, or maybe you like its message -- that's how I feel with these verses. Consider them my favorite quotes, my favorite song lyrics. While religion is a big part of my life, I don't think you necessarily need to be religious to have these messages resonate with you. I'm not a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, but I love the lyrics of "Free Bird."

Here are ten Bible verses that help me during times of change, both the exciting and the scary:
1. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
2. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Thessalonians 5:18
3. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Colossians 3:23
4. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
5. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." Ecclesiastes 3:1
6. "'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
7. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2
8. "Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.” Ezra 10:4
9. “Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
10. "I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed." Malachi 3:6
