October officially marks the beginning of the holiday season. There are so many fun activities to do with friends and family to kick off fall and really get in the spirit. Here are the top 10 absolute best things about October for anyone as obsessed with this time of year as I am.

1. Carving pumpkins

Even though it’s guaranteed to come out lopsided and disproportionate, it's fun and roasting the seeds is delicious, aka food so obviously yes.

2. Candy

Just another excuse to put ourselves into a sugar induced coma which is always welcome.

3. Apple picking

We all go for the Instagram pic, but it’s still a lot of fun.

4. Apple cider donuts

The single best fall treat hands down.

5. Foliage

Most beneficial for use in artsy snapchat stories but also pretty to look at.

6. Sweaters

Fall clothes are the best, no question.

7. Halloween

Now accepting guesses for the most basic costume of 2017.

8. Movies

Halloweentown, Twitches, Hocus Pocus, what more could you ask for?

9. Football Sundays

Another excuse to eat food and sit on the couch all day. Who doesn't like that?!

10. The official beginning of the holiday season

Christmas is basically right around the corner!!

There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
