We all are very well aware of the struggle when it comes to picking a movie for movie night. With great power comes great responsibility, am I right? So, in light of that, I present to you the ten greatest movies (in my opinion, of course) for any occasion. Disclaimer: these movies are in no particular order, I love them all equally and feel that they are the perfect movie for any occasion.
1. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This movie is absolute comedy gold. I've seen it maybe 50 times and manage to laugh at it ever single time. Do not let anyone tell you that this movie isn't worth it because they are absolutely wrong. This movie is perfect for both date night and girls night because it's a movie that features a strong romantic relationship (Ferris and Sloane) and a tight bond between friends (Ferris, Cameron and Sloane).
2. The Longest Yard
I am without a doubt a huge fan of feel good football movies. However, this movie is no ordinary football movie. Adam Sandler plays a convict charged with putting together a football team to face off against the guards. Sandler's character development from irresponsible to a pretty standup guy is smile worthy and something that will make you feel good at the end of the movie. The good guys win and the bad guys, well, we know what happens to them.
3. Remember the Titans
Oh my god, I absolutely love this movie. That's all I'm going to say. You will cry. You will laugh. You will fall in love with this movie. Watch it please. Watch it a million times, I don't care, just watch it.
4. High School Musical
I don't really need to say anything about the cinematic genius that is this movie, right?
5. Blues Brothers
Now this is a movie that probably won't usually show up on your radar but let me tell you it is one of my favorites. It's equal part badass and feel good with a kickin' musical number at the end. I grew up watching this movie and I will never get bored of the two fugitive brothers trying to get the band back together.
6. Pride and Prejudice
Make sure that when you watch this movie you watch the Kiera Knightly version because it is the definition of perfection. The scenery and costuming in this movie are absolutely stunning and the love story between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth will give you all the feels.
7. Mean Girls
It's a classic. I don't need to say anything else.
8. Legally Blonde
If it were up to me, this movie would be required screening for all females going through life. This movie is female empowerment at its height because Elle Woods is a no nonsense, no bullshit type of girl. The exact role model we need, someone who is completely herself and is unapologetic for it. She may like pink and have blonde hair but she OWNS IT and shows all her haters that there is more to Elle Woods than meets the eye.
9. Pitch Perfect
Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson kill me in this movie. There is equal parts romance and killer musical performance that make this movie perfect for girl's night or even date night.
10. The Secret Life of Pets
I saw this movie in theaters and I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a movie. I don't care that I'm eighteen years old, this movie is one of the greatest of all time and I highly recommend it for anyone ages 0-100. Honestly, I can't even give you a good synopsis you just gotta watch it.
