With my sister's wedding on the horizon, I have been paying more attention to my beauty regimen in an effort to look as good as possible for all of the millions of pictures that will be taken. Not that one shouldn't always take care of themselves, but big, exciting, and important occasions call for a little extra pampering! Here are a list of some products/routines I am currently doing and have done in the past to prepare for weddings, proms, and other glamorous events!

1. Aveeno Face Cream

I personally always use this face cream but for those who do not, it is great to invest in when you need radiant and moisturized skin in a short amount of time. Applying this to my face every night before bed gives me a smooth, clear, and refreshed look in the morning!

2. Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment

Chances are if you have an important event coming up, you are stressing out. With stress can sometimes come the unwanted breakout. That being said, applying a little bit of cream from this tube can help clear it up quickly so you're still looking great the day off without having to worry about being self conscious about anything!

3. Nail File/Clippers

Whether you are getting a professional manicure for the occasion or doing your nails yourself, keeping them even and the desired length is key during the final stages. It will save you time in the long run if you keep up with them!

4. Under eye cream

With my busy schedule of school, work, and preparing for this wedding, a lack of sleep has been present as of late. One of the things I am most self conscious about are my under eye bags/discoloration. I get awful ones even after just missing some sleep one night. I found this cream after being tired of the bags being so noticeable. Apply it in the morning and let it dry before applying makeup. It helps to hide discoloration and gives your eyes a pop making them look more awake!

5. Teeth Whitening Strips

If you know you will be taking a lot of pictures during your event, then these are a must. Even if you only do a one week treatment, they give your teeth a whiter color, get rid of stains, and make your smile even brighter! Get ready for your cheeks to hurt from all of the smiling!

6. Scrubs/Face masks

Along with your daily face wash of choice, face masks or scrubs can give your skin a little extra boost. The best part is there are so many options! You can buy pre-made ones in stores or make your own at home. Simply google what kind of face mask you are looking for and many options and recipes will appear. It is good to do one or two of these before the event.

7. Tweezers

Eyebrows have never been my strong suit, but keeping them neat and tidy and the desired shape you want will help you nail down the look you are going for. Buy or keep an extra set with you and make sure to touch them up if you need it before you begin pictures.

8. Body Lotion

Keep your entire body moisturized so it is glowing the day of the event! It will also make you feel more comfortable for whatever you have going on that day!

9. Chapstick

This one is a definite must. Even when the weather is not too cold, lips can get chapped very easily. Chapped lips will make it uncomfortable to wear a lipstick or stain as well so make sure to apply daily for at least a few days before the event to ensure they are looking and feeling good!

10. Water/Eating Healthy

Drinking water is imperative everyday, but increasing your intake will help to ensure your health and also help keep your skin clear! Eating healthy will also help with your skin along with keeping your weight on track so you are not fluctuating at all before your event!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
