Music is a huge influence on many people's lives. It's there for any life event, tragic or not, and it's a great escape. I believe that I was born in the wrong time because my music taste is that of my father's, and I have him to thank for introducing me to classic rock. Sadly I can't see many of these bands now because they're either broken up, too old, the tickets are too expensive or, unfortunately, most of the members are dead. So here are the bands:
1. Pink Floyd
Because they were super psychedelic and David Gilmour can play almost any instrument.
2. The Beatles
I grew up LOVING them and they are my #1 favorite band to this day. They went through so many phases, experimented a lot with their music and it never failed to sound amazing.
3. Led Zeppelin
Three words: Plant and Page. The dynamic duo. Robert Plant was not only gorgeous but that voice! Jimmy Page is just a guitar god and his improvisations were mind blowing.
4. The Doors
Jim Morrison put on unbelievable performances and his music was poetry. A brilliant mind that left too soon.
5. Nirvana
Uh, Kurt Cobain... enough said.
6. Stevie Ray Vaughan
Stevie overcame his drug addiction and became an incredible guitarist. He also left way too soon, but his legacy lives on to inspire many guitarists to this day.
7. Pearl Jam
I know they still perform, but they were way cooler in the 90's when Eddie Vedder was hanging off of the stage ceiling.
8. Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osborne IS Black Sabbath, and man were they dope.
9. David Bowie
Bowie is known for being one of the most experimental and eccentric musicians, and he was an influence until the day that he died.
10. Jimi Hendrix
Yet another guitarist that has influenced many artists to this day and died too young. Jimi played with the guitar upside down and restrung backwards since he was left-handed. His live performances are legendary and his skills are difficult to imitate.
