Makeup has always been a big industry, but it seems to have grown substantially in popularity and importance within the past few decades. I'm a total advocate for wearing makeup and I think it's an awesome tool for someone to become more comfortable with themselves or to use solely because they enjoy it. However, as the love for makeup seems to have grown, it doesn't seem that many have cared how this makeup is made and tested. Unfortunately, a majority of the affordable makeup brands test their products on animals. This practice has become completely unnecessary thanks to science advancements and human volunteers, so to see that it is still being used out of convenience is saddening. And all too often, when a brand is cruelty free, they're too expensive for people on a budget to use. Using cruelty free products while on a budget can seem hopeless at times, but I promise there is a way! Here's a list of some awesome and affordable makeup products that are also cruelty free. So now, you can look great and know that an animal didn't have to suffer for it to happen!
1. Physicians Formula
This is my personal favorite on the list, but it is a tad pricier than some others. The slightly higher price is worth the quality that you get though. They have a new "Organic Wear" line that I'm obsessed with.
2. Elf
This is one of the most affordable brands on this list. And I can attest that I've used their products and they've always been great! And excluding a few brushes, all of their products are vegan!
3. Wet'n'Wild
Their lip color and eye liner are favorites of mine. Also, their brushes are vegan!
4. Milani
This brand is amazing. Their products look like that of the more expensive companies and I'm especially fond of their foundation. They can be found at most drugstores.
5. Hard Candy
Hard Candy is available exclusively at Walmart! So you know it's going to be affordable. They also have the largest color variety for their products that I've ever seen. If you want sparkly purple eyeliner, this is the brand to go with.
6. Burt's Bees
You do have to be careful with Burt's Bees because while they themselves do not test on animals, they are owned by Clorox who is not a cruelty free company.
7. Sonia Kashuk
Their products are amazing! I've never been disappointed by something I've purchased from this brand. They also make and sell body lotions and wash. They are found mostly at Target.
8. Jordana
This brand has an entire section on their website for vegan products! Their products are made in the USA and are of amazing quality.
9. Pacifica
Every product here is 100% vegan, and naturally made. This company is one of my favorites for the quality and sustainability of their products. They also make candles!
10. Makeup Academy
In the US, this brand is mostly found at CVS. They are a UK based company. Their eye shadow palettes are amazing!
