Sometimes, it seems that our days or weeks are scheduled around the T.V. shows we wait for. The ones that left us hanging with a huge cliffhanger at the end of the season. The ones that finally resolved a problem that was dragged on for two seasons. The ones that we swear we hate for all the characters they kill off, but we still go back to every time. Here are returning T.V. shows we have our countdown apps set for:
1. TGIT
Otherwise known as Thank God It's Thursday. Let's get real, Shonda Rhimes just deserves her own space with her trifecta of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder. Even if we've hate-tweeted about her most recent brutal killing off of a favorite character we keep coming back for more. How can we not with the way HTGAWM ended in its first season? Set your reminders for September 24th, because our eyes are ready to be glued to Meredith Grey, Olivia Pope, and Annalise Keating.
2. Arrow.
CW has taken over with their comic related T.V. shows, leaving guys and girls everywhere happy with the TV shows airing on this channel. We've seen Oliver Queen in all his angst, heroics, and salmon ladders. Word is that the show is taking a different turn. Is Oliver hanging up the green suit? Will Ollicity finally be #relationshipgoals? What's Ray's future looking like *cough Legends of Tomorrow cough.* Find out on October 7th.
3. The Flash
It's usually a given that if you watch arrow, you watch this given all the crossover episodes which have occurred. It's the most-watched show on CW ever. Sorry not sorry Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill, but the awkward and quirky charms of the big city saving characters just can't be resisted. It's hard to believe we're only about to start a second season because of all the action-packed episodes of season 1 including but not limited to Barry and Caitlin singing karaoke while hilariously drunk. Get ready to see the fastest man alive in his new suit on October 6th.
4. New Girl
The definition of awkward and hilarious. These roommates are pretty much squad goals. And let's face it, no guys would complain about someone with Zooey Deschanel's eyes living in that apartment. And no girl would complain about Schmidt's workout routine in the morning, no matter how many times we have to make him put money in the douchebag jar. Prepare yourself for more rounds of the mysterious game of True American. While this show was originally supposed to air in fall, but couldn't due to Zooey's schedule, we're still putting it on the list. You'll start your year off with New Girl in January 2016.
5. Vampire Diaries
So many changes to come. It's hardly a secret that the show lost one of its main characters, to put it lightly. While we're happy for Nina Dobrev, we can't help but feel a little sad for the show's future. Girls hearts will either ache for Damon or hate him for the person he is going to become without Elena. I guess we'll have to find out on October 8th.
BONUS: SUPERGIRL
This isn't a returning show, but before this show even starts we hope it never gets cancelled. CBS is officially our hero (no pun intended) for choosing to take on this show. For those who watched Glee, we get to see rising star Melissa Benoist take on the role of elusive Man of Steel's cousin. While Man of Steel had a slightly darker side to it, this show seems to be taking a route similar to The Flash by having a more light tone to the show, but riveting nonetheless. And anyways, all the references to Supergirl's "cousin" in the trailer is enough to make anyone giddy. Tune into the new show October 26th.
