Kids of the '90s reunited on Sept. 18, 2015, for the big "Zoey 101" reveal. On Sept. 18, 2005, exactly 10 years before this reveal video was aired on MTV, the "Zoey 101" cast and students of PCA recorded videos of themselves for a time capsule. We sat with baited breath waiting to find out what Zoey could have possibly said in her video... but it was never revealed. Zoey told Chase he would have to wait 10 years to find out what she said, but who knew that we would have to wait that long also?
Earlier on the day the reveal video aired, Dan Schneider, creator of "Zoey 101," tweeted that there was a "surprise coming" for his fans later. Throughout the day he posted hints. Social media blew up. The hashtag "#WhatDidZoeySay" became a trending topic. Schneider's last hint was, "It's been 10 years. You've waited long enough," and he was right, we had waited long enough.
The video starts off with Chase proposing to his current girlfriend. In his typical manner, Michael (Chase's high school best friend) comes bounding flamboyantly into the restaurant in the middle of his friend's proposal claiming Chase just "had to see" the video he dug up. All thoughts of his supposed girlfriend Alyssa, whom he was in the midst of proposing to, seem to leave his mind the moment Michael mentions Zoey.
Everyone wanted Zoey and Chase to get together when the show was still on, and we all knew Chase was a little odd. The reveal video revealed more than Zoey's time capsule message: it revealed that Chase grew up to be even more odd than before, you may even say creepy. His time away from Zoey after the show ended clearly loosened some already loose bolts in his head. In the video, this twenty-six year old man (give or take a few years) pulls out a picture from his brief case of his middle/high school crush when she was maybe fifteen. That alone is enough to make you wonder about the man... but then, at the end of the video, he bounds out of the restaurant as if on some heroic pursuit of his high school crush as if it were completely normal.
Despite the creepy behavior, "Zoey 101" fans everywhere were raving about this video. Everyone wants to know where Zoey is now, and if we'll ever find out if they will be reunited. The video ends with a vague, "To be continued...?" and '90s kids everywhere were left with one important question: will there be a "Zoey 101" reunion?
