Remember 10 years ago when TeenNick consumed all of your television watching? I was 10 years old in the fifth grade, and my dad would always joke around with me, saying that I wasn't a teen so it didn't make sense that I was watching it. Regardless of that, there was one show that I absolutely adored and still to this day wish I could have lived like them. I know you already know what I am talking about, and it's "Zoey 101." Pacific Coast Academy was the ultimate dream, so don't even act like you didn't want to be Zoey.
Fast forward to Sept. 18, 2015. Exactly 10 years after the season-two episode "Time Capsule," where Zoey recorded a video of her revealing how she feels about Chase (I know you had a crush on him too), the producer, Dan Schneider, released a video where the truth may finally surface. In the video, Chase is about to propose to his current girlfriend when Michael, his best friend back at PCA, comes running in to inform Chase that he dug up the time capsule, found Zoey's video, and that he needs to watch it. Zoey told Chase that in 10 years, he could find out. Not surprisingly, Chase admits that he still has feelings for Zoey, even now. He then runs off with Michael, abandoning his current girlfriend to find out what Zoey said about him. Zoey possibly admitted to having secret feelings for Chase! *gasp*
The suspense killed me after I watched the video. Will there be a follow-up? There'd better be. You can't leave a huge puzzle like this unsolved, especially if you're going to bring it back a whole decade later. There are millions of 20-year-olds like me who are expecting an answer. Don't mess with our heads, Nickelodeon.
So it's 10 years later and Chase is still in love with Zoey. Crazy? Yes. Still adorable? Of course. I wanted Zoey and Chase to be together since day one, and to see this video come out exactly 10 years later was one of the most nostalgic moments regarding my tween life. This video has triggered a thought: If you know someone is the one, do you hold out and wait for them (for 10 years) or move on? Life and love may sometimes be a guessing game, but you can't put your life on hold for the sake of someone else's. Unless maybe you're Chase, and the girl is Zoey.
No matter what happens following this video, I would like to give a shout-out to Nickelodeon for bringing back my childhood by helping me remember how much I loved "Zoey 101." All I ever wanted was a Tek-Mate phone, a Jet X, to drink some Blix, go to Sushi Rox, and live at PCA. And of course, to be Zoey.
I don't know about you, but I'm holding out for Chase and Zoey, exactly 10 years later.
