I ran as fast and far away from you as I could

And still

You find your way back up underneath my tongue


Your words used to be golden ribbons laced between my rib cage

And now

With every word the threads are pulled so tight

That I am left with broken bones

And broken promises


I want the ocean to swallow me whole

To drown me in shades of blue

The way you wrapped me up in your love

And left me drowning in you


The crazy part is,


I wanted to dance in the fire

With you

But instead you doused me in your gasoline

And sent me up in flames

You watched

As I set fire to the earth all by myself

And left you wondering how the hell I survived

Without you


Let me remind you,


I have been putting graffiti in the sky long before you were here,

I am a masterpiece all on my own

If you only intend to desecrate my universe

You are not welcome here

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
