Ah, March. How we all love you so. During this month, many schools shut down for what is known as glorious "spring break." Now, to college kids, this is one week of vacation to some warm, booze-infected area down south. It's where artists come down to entertain on a beach in front of thousands of college kids. It's where people get sunburned and dehydrated. It's where you wish you were.
Here are five things you can do when you stay home for spring break.
1. Cry.
While all of your friends are on the beach in South Padre, Cancun, etc., you can cry in a corner because you're not there. This might take a while.
2. Drive around your hometown.
Now that you're the college kid that's back home, you can drive around with your [insert college here] bumper sticker to let everyone know that you're an adult. Maybe you can call some friends up to come join you. Oh wait, just kidding — they're all on spring break. After miles of deep thought and throwback songs, you're going to wish you were on a beach right now. On a real spring break. When this happens, you can cry again.
3. Cuddle your pet.
Your pet is probably really happy you're home. So you can cuddle with them until you forget about the fact that you're not on a warm beach with a cool drink in your hand. If you don't have a pet, you can use a pillow too. (Warning: this may cause you to cry again.)
4. Hang out with family.
It may not beat South Padre or Cancun, but it's better than nothing.
5. Plan your trip for next year.
You only get so many chances to have fun in life. So if you missed out this year, plan your trip for next year. This way, you'll be one step ahead of everyone else! This activity can also be tear-free, if you're strong enough. (Cancun 2k17, anyone?)
