One of the most exciting birthdays a person celebrates is turning 18. You may be a senior in high school or a freshman in college, but no matter what level of education you are in, turning 18 is exciting all the same. You are finally a legal adult and that means you can finally do "adult things." Here are 5 things you can do once you finally turn 18.

1. Vote.

I myself, missed being able to vote in this election by 15 days, (not that I want to be able to brag that this was my first election). When you finally turn that magical number, you can vote and have a say in who runs our country. Even if you're from a state with very little electoral votes, your vote still matters. That is a great feeling, knowing that you had a say.

2. Sign a waiver.

I know this one isn't exciting, but we all have experienced going to a place with our friends when we are 17 and not be able to participate because our parents aren't there to sign the waiver. I myself have played photographer way too many times for this reason and I can't wait until I can just sign the dang piece of paper myself.

3. Go to a bar/night club.

Although this isn't my particular cup of tea, a lot of people like to do this once they turn 18. Although you still can't drink, being in that atmosphere still appears to be fun. It's the fact that you can finally show your license and get in.

4. Get a tattoo or piercing.

Turning 18 means you are finally in control of your own body, which means you can get a tattoo or piercing. I myself would love to get a tattoo once I turn 18, however I like my parents and still want to be able to go home on Christmas break. However, if I-- or anyone for that matter-- really wanted to get a tattoo or piercing on my 18th birthday, I legally could.

5. Live on your own.

So needless to say, if you do get that tattoo your parents don't approve of, you can now officially live on your own. You can get your own credit card, your own car lease, and live in a house all by yourself. Yes it will be scary at first but just remember that you are technically a legal adult now and are responsible for your own self.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
