There is this one sentence that is really, really important to proclaim. It is one of those things where you have to mean what you are saying. And you can't mean it if you don't understand it. You're probably reading this like "Um... I know what that means. God's will be done, simple..." but this gets thrown out of proportion a lot.
Saying "Your will be done" to God is saying, "Okay God, it doesn't matter what I want to do, if it is what You want for me, Your will be done." Or, "Alright God, I have no idea what You are doing, but I know it is what is best for me, so Your will be done."
Eight and a half times out of 10, we have the mindset of, "Yes, of course, I want what is best for me! I really want to do this, though, and this, this, and this." We don't want to let go of the things we desire, even though what God has planned for us is beyond desirable.
We all know that we are imperfect beings. If we think about this, why would we even want full responsibility and control over our lives when we can raise our hands and fully surrender it all to God? His arms are open, ready for us.
Why would we want our will to be done when God already knows what is going to happen? He already knows what tomorrow will bring. We do not have to worry about tomorrow because He is already there. (I highly encourage you to read Matthew 6:25-34.)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Have faith in the Lord. He makes no mistakes.
