The library is a place to go alone or in a big group. Since it is open until the late hours of the night, the library is easily accessible for all students. Everyone has their reasons to go: homework, quizzes, or exams. It is because of these reasons, that students are personally victimized by the library.
1. Discombobulated
You walk through the doors ready for a successful study session, when you look around and don't see one seat open. You circle around and around waiting to find someone getting up to leave and take their spot.
2. Determined
Once you do find a seat (by some outlets to keep electronics charged if you're lucky), you are eager to get your work done like you planned.
3. Uninterested
Not even half way into the material you have to cover, and you decide to reward yourself with a "few minutes" on your phone.
4. Helpless
A few minutes turns into twenty, and now you're discouraged because you just wasted TWENTY minutes. You reevaluate everything your study session is supposed to consist of and are left overwhelmed.
5. Reenergized
When the panicking is over, it is time to cram. You have a new wave of determination (from the coffee with a double shot of espresso you just bought), set the phone aside, and power through your assignments.
Whether this is a daily routine for you or this only happens when midterms/finals roll around, all of us students have experienced this struggle at the library. Because of the struggle, walking out those library doors is such a rewarding feeling. Maybe one day we'll all learn how to avoid the struggle, but then again, maybe not.
