It feels like yesterday we were all counting down the days until we moved into our dorms. We met our roommates for the first time, said goodbye to our parents, and spent the first night in our tiny, uncomfortable beds. We all marked the beginning of this new and exciting journey called college.
The past seven months have given all of us unique memories that are special to our own hearts. Sometimes we missed home more than ever, but as we moved away from our parents’ arms, a whole new life was exposed to us, and most of us loved every single moment of it.
Time goes by so fast when you're living with friends, and now we are almost done with a quarter of our time as college students. And as much as I know we want to shed a tear about the good times that felt not long enough, we should all look ahead and be excited for what’s to come.
Freshman year definitely won’t be the same as any other. So for the next two months, savor every moment you get to spend in the dorms and go to the dining hall as often as you can because we all know that we will miss the food.
And as we are making the most out of our last two months as the campus babies, we should also use the time to prepare ourselves for the next three years. We all have one thing in common, and that is that, no matter how great the past seven months in college was, we all have room to grow.
Learn from the times when you fell and got back up these past few months. Thank the friends that stuck with you through thick and thin. And give yourself a pat on the back for making it through what might have been one of the biggest transitions of your life.
Last, instead of being sad about the times that will never come back again, be excited all the “firsts” you will experience for the next three years. Because if you really think about it, some of the best moments of our time in college have yet to come.
