Your Jim Halpert Is Out There

Here's a little prefix to Jim Halpert if some of you readers do not know who this amazing person is.

Jim Halpert is a fictional character from the show, "The Office." He is in love with the Pam (the receptionist) at the office. The two are best friends and their personalities click. Well, Pam is engaged with a tool and Jim sees her each day knowing he has can do nothing, but wait. Wait for a miracle or wait to tell her the honest truth about how he feels. He knows Pam isn't happy and wants nothing else in the world but for her to be happy. The day comes and he goes for it and she denies it. So, he begins to move on and switches jobs. Pam ends the engagement and now Jim is seeing someone. The tables have turned and one day it finally clicks to Jim. Jim waited for Pam for over four years to be with her. Keep in mind this didn't happen over night. It took days to years of watching and waiting. Waiting for the moment of the unexpected to happen.

Jim Halpert is the aspiration for all those who want to wait for the love we've always imagined. But, we aren't patient people in this generation. Everything is instant. We want everything at the palms of our hands with no excuse of it not being there. Jim Halpert showed us that waiting is all you can do no matter the circumstances. And doesn't that show character beyond words.

He's out there for you. Don't lose faith- Jim Halpert is the kind of guy that gets you on his humor then everything follows. He's kind, caring, thoughtful, goofy, devoted, loving, goal minded, truthful guy.

This fictional but yet all to real character puts my faith towards men once more. (I may sound loopy, maybe a little) Yes, he isn't real, but it gives me an idea of what true love actually is. Naive me thought I knew what love was, but I was sadly mistaken. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is waiting. Love is being devoted to the one person you can not go a day without thinking about. Love is sticking with you through the hard times. Love is doing anything in your power to make this person happy. Love is everything.

Jim Halpert is what all hopeless romantics are seeking for and trying to comprehend this mysterious love that we see hundreds of people have each day for the one person that they see makes the world turn for you. The person that makes their heart skip a beat and butterflies swirling. This person is someone they would die for. This person is in all ways perfectly imperfect to them.

He's out there wandering around and maybe he's thinking about you, but he quite doesn't know it yet.

As Jim Halpert said, "There is only one thing that outweighs every other concern. One that will make you give up on everything you thought you knew. Every instinct. Every rational calculation. Love No matter what happens, you've got to forget about all of the other stuff. You've got to do everything you can to get to the one woman who is going to make all this worth it. At the end of the day you've go to jump."

We all have our definition of what love should feel or being like. I hope Jim Halpert gives you a better understanding of what you deserve most in life. Which is happiness and unconditional love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
