You're Going To Miss It

High school is the greatest experience.

You're Going To Miss It

It has only been about six months since I have graduated from high school. Days go by where I remember saying "I will never miss high school, I cannot wait to graduate." Now it's the tenth week in college and I wish I would have had enjoyed those four high school years. You never realize how much you will miss the small things. Like having a set lunch time (now its eat and run) the knowing everyone in your class and having them around all the time.

Then there are the big events you begin to miss like homecoming. The waiting on being asked, and hopefully its by the cute boy thats sitting next to you; the stressful days of dress shopping and making sure it is better then last years. Of course dealing with a stubborn date who thinks they can match everything perfectly but you know you're going to have to do it last minute because they forgot. Then of course the morning of, girls know this best, the hair appointment making sure every little hair has a perfect place. The make up appointment and still looking in the mirror to make sure you have that perfect hair. Speeding down the road to get home because you want enough time to get dressed. You want to eat but don't because you don't want to look "bloated" in your dress so you wait till after pictures. Picture time comes around and your dressed because you want a picture with everyone but your still thinking about eating. Finally arriving to the dance and wanting to already take off your $100 shoes you had to have. The dance comes to an end and your date doesn't want to slow dance but does it anyway to make you happy. To finally going to the "age" appropriate after party and having a fantastic time. You'll get to college and just want to go back... to every stressful moment, every beautiful "i look fat picture" don't rush your high school years.

When it comes to graduation day; let your mom cry even tho she'll look like a mess for pictures accept it. Pay attention to everyone's name being called because you won't forget it, NEVER WEAR HEELS YOU WILL FALL!!!! (and honestly we would all laugh.) Applauded everyone on making it as far as you did because its hard. Throw your cap and do not care if you grab someone else's because they all look the same. Hug all your friends because you never know when you will see them again; hug everyone because somehow they all important to you. Thank your teachers for those extension on the papers you forgot to do. Cry at the end of it all because yes it is over and you will miss it. Make sure you will enjoy it

College shows you to appreciate the small things even your small town that you never thought you would miss. You miss it all and you will regret not living every moment out. Enjoy the years you have and always look back on how much fun you really had.

Your's Truly,

Tay

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
