Your Future Is Now And Where You're At Is Where You Are Supposed To Be

Your Future Is Now And Where You're At Is Where You Are Supposed To Be
Amanda Johanson

Looking back at myself years ago, I was a girl who dreamed of an unknown future. There have been many crossroads where I could have taken the wrong turn and there were detours but somehow God steered me back on track. Through my recent years I've learned that only to ourselves, life is unexpectedy but if you hand the reigns over to God then nothing is impossible. It isn't about the plan you drew up or the lists of 'to dos' before you're a certain age. It is about learning from your mistakes and letting Him show you how to strengthen yourself through them while strutting onward. Life doesn't stop for a second so neither should you. Life is not about the actions people see, what is expected or assumed but the heart that is behind it all. Your heart is what God sees and your humility blesses you way beyond what anyone elses visual of you may be because a confident woman is a positive woman. A confident woman also knows that she is loved and doesn't need a circle of friends or spouse to cure every situation. God doesn't send discouragement your way, so why waste your thoughts with degrading negativity. Reject it then embrace the person God made you to be and remain confident. Encourage yourself in the Lord. He will bless you for seeking only His approval. Not a modern day society outlook on your life. His blessings are incomparable to what we give ourselves in the flesh and selfishly at that. The blessings anyone receives should be shared. Your home, your money, your gifts, your most unconditional love... Etc.

Now could not be a better time to choose what route to take on your own and when God knows you're ready, He will offer you the next step. Do not wait anxiously or afraid. One of my favorite ministers quoted in a devotional, "It takes courage to face what you fear most. But God's promises are not for specially selected people; they are for everyone." - Joyce Meyer

A great scripture to follow is Romans 8:15...

"For the Spirit for which you have now received is not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit of sonship] in the bliss of which we cry, Abba (Father)!"

Just open your eyes knowing your future is there and where you're at is where you are supposed to be. You cannot blame tiredness, laziness, mental illness or any drama affect Gods plan for you. Those are all rooted in fear. God guarantees us strength in any situation we let Him in.

"Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord yourgod is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

So do everything with a spirit of faith and wait patiently like you're an obedient child again with an innocent heart believing in the endless possibilities because that is what God sees in us all. He sees us as His own children. His forgivable children that He truly loves to make the impossible, possible for. You lose faith in yourself then you've lost faith in Him. I would never be where I am today without God. In fact, I wouldn't even exist.

"Let your light so shine before men that they may see moral excellence and your praiseworthy, Noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your father who is in heaven."

-Matthew 5:16

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
