We all have them. Our best friend or group of friends that we all adore and is above all else. They're always there for you when you need them, knowing the right words to cheer you up, doing activities with you, making new experiences, bashing on everyone together. It's the greatest of all acquaintances to have!
These friends are the ones that always watch your back, kicking you out of the stupidity of your own reality by showing their side of what they see that you may be oblivious to. They're the ones who know all of your secrets, the secrets that would devastate you if someone else knew. They're the ones who studied what makes you sad and depressed, so that they won't accidentally hurt you by saying or joking about the wrong things. They're the ones who hold your hand and prevent you from falling into a chasm of nothingness, so that you never feel alone in this world. They're the one who knows everything you love and everything you fear, ensuring you can enjoy your time with them. Although this may be different in every group of friends/friendships, they're also the ones that can attack each other's insecurities jokingly as a way to bond with one another.
Like I once heard someone say before:
"A really good friendship/relationship is essentially trusting in them a weapon that will kill you, but knowing that they won't pull the trigger."
But you know what? They could also be your worst enemies. Think about it. They know the secrets that can devastate you. They know how to ruin your day, making you sad and depressed constantly. They're the one who can let go of you while you're falling, leaving you feeling basically alone in this world. They know how to make you feel heartbroken by destroying the things you love, and they know how to oppress you with the things you fear. They know the insecurities to target and attack you with, to destroy your bond. They can very well pull the trigger of the weapon you gave them.
Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I love my best friends, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
