12 Days Of Your Basic College Girl Christmas
Toa Heftiba

On the twelfth day of a basic college girl's Christmas, my true love gave to me...

12 Hours of Netflix Binge Watching

The Crown, Stranger Things, Fuller House, Bill Nye Saves The World, Orange Is The New Black, Daredevil, 13 Reasons Why, etc. Plus all those festive Christmas movies!

11 Pintrest Boards

Winter Recipes, Winter Baking Recipes, Winter Wedding, Winter DIY Decor, Winter Gifts On A College Budget, Winter Wedding 2, Winter Fitness, Winter Fashion, Winter Hairstyles, Winter Makeup, and Winter Wedding 3.

10 Lit Spotify Playlists

One for every mood. Because it's cold and finals weeks, so we have a lot of moods. Plus for different moods but still Christmas music.

9 Amazon Online Orders

It's two-day shipping thanks to my student discounted Prime. I needed that book and that calendar...

8 Dining dollars left

Maybe buying all that food at the beginning of the semester wasn't the best idea...
Or those $7 coffees at the campus coffee shop.
Or that candy at the market.
Or those pumpkin muffins every day.

Maybe I should download a budget app.

7 Chipotle Bowls

One salad for every day of the week! You know the salad with extra rice and light lettuce? Okay, it's a bowl. One bowl for every day of the week!

Plus chips and guac, but that depends on how much that Christmas work bonus actually is.

They have queso now too so we'll probably get a side of that.

6 "I Miss You!" Text Messages

To all your roommates. Or all your co-workers. Or all your best friends. Or all your boyfriends.
This is a judgment-free zone.

5 NEW VISCO FILTER INSTAGRAM THEME IDEAS

New year. New me. New Visco Filter. Duh. Which one looks better with my eyes?

4 Starbucks Study Sessions

Yeah sorry, we have to study for finals... at Starbucks. Or a cute local coffee shop with comfy chairs and normal sizes, but we'll probably end up at Starbucks. Plus Starbucks has those cute holiday cups right now!

3 Last minute class changes

A Monday 8:25am lecture sounds a lot worse then it did two months ago. And my roommates best friends ex-boyfriends sister says that the teacher I had wasn't her favorite so this was a smart choice.

2 Taylor Swift "Reputation" Magazine Albums

Because there are two. And they're both different. I mean they're the same CD but the magazine is different. And she would want me to.

and a 4.0 college degree!

While we're singing about things, maybe a full ride scholarship too.

Merry Christmas to every college girl this season! May your days be merry, your Starbucks be hot, and your leggings be warm.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
