Why I Want To Be A Teacher

Yes, I want to be a teacher. Why is that so crazy?

Why I Want To Be A Teacher

In one word: yes.

Yes, I want to be a teacher because I want to help shape the students who will one day be those who run this country.

I want to be able to lay the framework within the lives of my students that will be built upon every single day for the rest of their lives because they will understand that you can always learn something new from any situation. I want to have my hand in the way this country is ran and the best, most effective way to do so is to help educate the young minds of my students in a way that will inspire them to make this country the best it has ever been.

Yes, I want to be a teacher because I want to change lives for the better.

I want to be able to give each and every one of my students the necessary tools to make the best life that they can for themselves. If you have an education and enough determination then you can accomplish anything, and that is exactly what I want to teach my students. I want them to know that what matters isn't the color of their skin, the size of the house they live in or how much money they have in a bank account. What matters is your knowledge and your determination.

Yes, I want to be a teacher because I never want to stop learning.

We live in a world that is so absolutely amazing and full of so so so many interesting things that I don't know how anyone could ever possibly get bored. I never want a day to go by that I do not learn something, no matter how small. What better way to do that than to be an educator? I want to be able to show my students how much fun learning can be.

Yes, I want to be a teacher because I am satisfied with being rewarded with the smiles of my students instead of zeros on a paycheck.

So many people look towards education majors with questions on their faces because they just don't understand why someone would willingly go into a profession in which they are by no means going to get rich. But we teachers understand. We know that there is no better feeling than when our students gain confidence in themselves, overcome what they never thought they could, and understand the seemingly impossible. Some things you just can't put a price tag on.

Yes, I want to be a teacher because I love teaching.

I love knowing that I will be able to inspire others. I love knowing that everyday I will have a classroom of beautiful young minds waiting on me. I love knowing that I can change someones life and help prepare them for the future. I love knowing that I could have the next Steve Jobs or even the next president sitting within my very classroom.

You see, teaching is one of the hardest professions to go into, but without a doubt the most rewarding.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
